Two Headed Giant Commander League Rules and Resoruces
Introduction and Mission Statement:
Welcome to this Elder Dragon Highlander Two Headed Giant league.The whole goal of this league is to have fun while helping players build interesting new decks that slowly build into a semi-competitive mid-budget power level. This league is designed to promote new and interesting ideas not normally seen in the commander space.

Building a fun yet competitive environment while promoting the design of interesting and fresh decks.
What Players Should Expect:
A collaborative environment, where players help each other design their decks, share interesting ideas, and share the joy of building competitive decks on a budget.
Rules
- Your Commander must have “partner”, “partner with”, “friends forever”, or “choose a background”. Full list of available commanders included below. 
- You must have 2 commanders 
- Or a background if you choose a “choose a background commander” 
- Backgrounds effect both members of the team (This only applies to cards with the type background) 
- Each member of a team must share a color between their decks 
- Ex. Player one chooses a commander opairing with white/blue their team mate must choose a commander pairing that contains either white or blue as their color identity. 
- Teams may have matching color identities. 
- You must have a partner with pair shared between your partner deck 
- Ex. You run Pir and your partner runs Toothy in the 98. 
- Commander Pairings are drafted, and only 1 player may play any one pairing. 
- Commanders with “partner” can be drafted multiple times as long as their partner pairing does not match one already drafted. 
- Max value of decks at time of submittal for week 1 is $35/$50 (this does not include costs of commanders or basic lands) 
- All cards in your 98 must be $5 or less (rounded to the nearest dollar ( all cards must be less than $5.45)) at time of submittal 
- Max value of decks at time of submittal for week 1 is $35/$50 (this does not include costs of commanders or basic lands) 
- After the midway point of the season the max value of the a single card in the deck is $7 (rounded to the nearest dollar ( all cards must be less than $7.45 at time of submittal)) 
- During playoffs and finals the max value of the a single card in the deck increases to $10 (rounded to the nearest dollar ( all cards must be less than $10.45 at time of submittal)) 
- If the cost of a card goes up and is no longer legal, the player will not be penalized and the card will be treated as if it were the same cost as when the deck was submitted. 
- Exceptions - If Card: 
- Value > $8 before mid-season; card value = $5 
- Value > $12.50 between mid season and playoffs; card value = $7.50 
- Value > $15 during playoffs; card value = $10 
- You may change a maximum of 5 cards per week 
- The max budget increases every week $15/$12.50 
- If you add $5 one week, you still have the unused budget from that week available the next week. 
- The cost of a card is determined as the lowest tcg market value of legal available printings. 
- If a foil version of a card is cheaper than a non foil, you may use the foil pricing 
- Printing must be tournament legal. You can not use gold border, collectors edition, world championships series etc printings to determine cost of card. 
- Non-tournament legal official printings are considered proxies 
- Decks must be submitted through Archidekt 24 hours before your next round. 
- Once you have submitted your deck no cards may be changed without approval till after the upcoming round. 
- Deck cost is located inside of Archidekt (price minus basic lands) 
- Cost of commander will be subtracted from this number to determine legality 
- No more than 3 cards in your 98 may be proxied. 
- This includes basic lands 
- Cards in the command zone may be proxied without effecting you max proxy limit 
- Proxies must be high quality and full color 
- Non-tournament legal official printings are considered proxies 
- Proxies must be clear to see and easy to read 
- If you are unsure ask league organizers 
EDH Two Headed Giant Rules
- Team of 2 people who share 60 life 
- Both members of a team play their turns simultaneously, and priority is shared as if they were one player. 
- Untap, upkeep, draw, main phase 1, combat, main phase 2, and end step are all shared 
- If both members of the team have an ability have a trigger ability trigger at the same time they may stack them as they wish as if they were one player. 
- You attack both players as if they were one player and either player may block their opponents attacks if able. 
- Both members of a team attack at the same time 
- Spells that target a single player and do not effect life total must target an individual and do not affect both players. 
- Ex. Player 1 casts duress targeting player 3 causingt them to reveal their hand and a card to be discarded. Player 3 reveals their hand to the entire table, but their partner (player 4) does not and will be unaffected by this spell. Player 1 chooses their target (Player 3) and does not target the opposing teams players as one entity. 
- If a team loses all 60 life they lose the game 
- If a team accrues 15 poison counters they lose the game 
- If a team takes 21 points of commander damage from a single commander they lose the game 
- If any effect causes target player to lose the game the team loses the game 
- If an effect causes a player to win the game that team wins the game 
Scheduling Your Next Round:
- Every week the schedule will be released. 
- All matches must be played before the release of the next weeks schedule 
- If matches can not be accomplished that week one or both teams may be forced to take a forfeit, and no points will be awarded 
- If one team is found to be the problem the other team will be awarded full point (4) for the week 
- Life happens and if something comes up, you can submit to league officials to have your timeline extended. 
- If an extension is approved and you can not reschedule before your opponent upgrades their decks and plays their next round the opposing team will not be required to scale their decks back down. 
- If a team has to forfeit 3 times they may be removed from the league entirely 
League Scoring
- Rounds are played 1 v 1 and are best 2 out of 3. 
- Each round won is worth 1 point 
- The team who wins the round wins an extra two points 
- One bonus point will be awarded weekly to the team with the lowest combined dollar value of their decks. 
- Regular season consists of playing each team twice then 2 weeks of playoffs winner advances, finals are played between the top 2 scoring teams. Playoff round wins award 1 additional point. A finals win is worth 2 additional points. 
- All scoring rules 
- 1 pt per match won (maximum of 2 pts per round) 
- 2 pts per round won 
- 1 bonus point awarded weekly for team with lowest combined dollar value of decks 
- 1 bonus pt per playoff round won 
- 2 bonus pts per finals round won 
- 1 bonus pt for playoff champion 
- 2 bonus pts for winning division awarded at end of regular season 
- Ties are settled in a 1 match round winner takes all 
- Ties for playoff ranking are settled by strength of schedule (add the ranking of all their regular season opponents up, lowest score wins tie breaker) 
League Structure
- Number of teams < 8 1 division 
- Number of teams between 8 and 16 
- Break it down to division minimum number of players per division is 4 
- Number of teams 24-31 
- Split divisions into multiple conferences 
- Minimum number of teams per division is 4 
- Minimum number of divisions per conference is 2 
- Each Conference must contain same number divisions 
- 8 week season 
- Each team must play each team in their division at least once, must play at least 3 weeks outside of division 
Playoffs and Finals
Playoffs
- It total teams is less than 8 top 4 teams advance 
- #1 Ranked team faces #4 
- #2 ranked team faces #3 
- Winners face off, winner of that round gains 1 extra bonus point 
- Losers face off, 0 bonus pts will be awarded for this game 
- If 8 or more teams top 6 teams advance 
- If 16 or more teams top 8 teams advance 
- A losers bracket will be formed with a goal of not being the ultimate loser 
- Special prizes may be given to participants in the losers bracket 
Finals
- Top two scoring teams will advance into a best of 3 winner takes all final round 
- The winner of the final round will be awarded 1st place regardless of league scoring 
- Highest scoring team will still be awarded end of league award for most points scored 
Entry Fee and Prizes
- Entry fee is $20 per team ($10 per person) 
- Prize money goes into packs split between the top teams based on the number of teams participating. 
- < 6 teams - top 2 
- 6/7 teams -top 3 
- 8 + teams - top 4 
- 12 + teams - top 6 (top 3 from each of two divisions) 
- The winner of the finals will be awarded 1st place and the loser 2nd 
- The rest of the placing will be based on season/playoff scoring 
- Additional Awards 
- Highest scoring team - prize packs awarded 
- Lowest average budget team - prize awarded 
- The survivor (winner of the losers bracket) - joke award 
- Lowest scoring team - the donkeys butt/toilet joke award

Besides the card banned already in commander (found here), the following list of cards are banned as well as we feel they do not promote play/build patterns promoted by the league, and sol ring. Yes sol ring is banned… now you are free. Some partner commanders are also banned and are included in the Background and Partner options Banned as Commander sections
